Post Summer In Regents Park

The Autumnal Beauty of London's Greenspace

Normally, when you think of an afternoon spent in the park, it’s on a super hot summers day, lazing on a picnic blanket, surrounded by finger food and perhaps a couple of bottles of cider. Parks are only really suitable for summer. And for most parks, this is the case. But not for Regents Park, no, no! Regents Park is a beautiful, scenic park for all seasons.

As it is officially autumn, my friend and I decided to take a walk in the park and it made me really appreciate the beauty of the change of seasons! The time has come for the green leaves to turn to orange; the wide pathways in Regents Park were scattered with golden leaves, covered so completely it almost could’ve been the Yellow Brick Road leading to Oz! The sun was shining, the sky was clear but there was that autumnal chill in the air, no matter though, as we were prepared and kept cosy in our scarves, layers and gloves!

Connecting Bloomsbury to Camden, Regents Park is so large that it’s easy to get lost; you can walk for hours and still not find yourself back where you started! But it’s so beautiful and well kept that you almost forget you are in the heart of one of the busiest cities in the world. We ended up spending three hours walking around the well groomed gardens, but of course we made a few pitstops. Coffee at The Espresso Bar and a nice hot lunch at The Smokehouse was just what we needed to keep going on our autumn stroll. I love London in the summer, but I also love it in the Winter… In fact, I just love London in general! Come rain or shine, there are always places of beauty that can be uncovered amongst the skyscrapers.
