A quirky Caribbean style café in East Dulwich

Situated in North Cross Road, Blue Mountain café easily grabs the attention of passers-by. The front terrace is decorated with a colourful mosaic, which gives exceptional character to the Blue Mountain exterior.

I discovered the Blue Mountain café on my way from Dulwich Leisure Centre. After a morning swim, we craved for something healthy and filling. The café menu offers unique Caribbean cuisine dishes as well as the usual choices like Eggs Benedict, pancakes and a full English Breakfast. I was pleasantly surprised that Blue Mountain is using their own coffee blend, which is delicious and smooth.

The atmosphere of Blue Mountain makes you want to linger on your coffee cup a little longer; it is very cosy and calming. Dark wooden chairs, tables and cake cabinets, squeaky wooden flooring and a few round mirrors create an atmosphere that somehow resembles an old Caribbean ship.

If the sun is out, I recommend enjoying the lovely cakes and drinks in the garden seating area, which is decorated with a colourful mosaic of crushed tiles and dishes.

Blue Mountain is open 9am-5pm Mon-Sat and 10am-6pm on Sunday; their lunch prices vary from £4 to £8 per meal.
