Elizabeth Street – l’anglais méditerranéen ?

I am home !

This quiet and beautiful avenue has a village-like atmosphere with many small, ‘quality’ establishments on the way providing an intimate ‘street feel’ for visitors. To this Frenchman, it seems like a little bit of home with a bit of a meditteranean vibe going on. It has much of what is ‘de rigueur ‘ at home with great coffee shops like Peggy Porshen, Cafe Fratelli and Jerobaoms (for essential champagne supplies) and Tom Tom (for cigars). There are some pretty decent clothes shops with my favourite being Salt. If you get bored with the champagne and cigars – there is a well presented Sainsbury store - to para-phrase Marie Antoinette « let them eat cake ».

For me as an intrepid TripTide explorer it was the perfect place to spend some quality time exploring ‘village London’. Apparently there is a very good and active local community with events planned throughout the year.
