Emirates Air Line

Sky's the limit!

If you'll check the London tube map, you'll notice these little icons marking stations and a key box explaining what each icon means. If you'll follow the DLR line (light blue) towards Beckton, you'll see a tiny cable car hanging inbetween Emirates Royal Docks and Emirates Greenwich Peninsula. To get there, get off the Royal Victoria DLR station (fight for the front seat to feel like you're driving the train, DLR is automated so no drivers!), or travel by jubilee line, getting off at North Greenwich station.

Now I know that 'Emirates Air Line' sounds slightly exclusive, presumably like something too expensive as well (at least that's what I thought), but I have some good news here - I paid only £3.50 for my ticket and trust me - the experience was worth every penny and more.

Emirate Air Line crosses the river Thames at a height up to 90 meters and it is the only cable car available in London. Cabins arrive every 30 sec fitting about 10 passengers in each gondola (usually it is not crowded so you can simply wait for an empty one).

Imagine being up in the air when when the sun sets and the city lights up. After 7pm the flight durations extend to approx 12-13min each way so you could relax and enjoy a spectacular view of London city lights. My advice for you; include Emirates Air line in your must-do list and don't forget your camera, the view is worth recording!
