Greenwich Market
Truly Wonderful
Greenwich Market is a covered market – very typical of London Markets. If you are visiting the Greenwich area, to the south of the city on the River Thames, it’s a great day out. Its big on street food but there is plenty more as well. You can find objects of creators or artisans. It is full of original merchandise and no nasty imported rubbish.
The market is not very big, almost intimate, and visitors will find a nice variety of stands: vintage clothing, antique, photography, etc. This is, perhaps, not the most famous market in London but is well worth a visit and has an undeniable charm. Whatever happens, it will satisfy your curiosity!
The good idea to have a meal on one of the market’s many cooking stalls and to eat at Greenwich Park just a few steps away. You can plan a nice half day to visit the area. There is also the Cutty Sark, a grand old sailing boat converted into a museum, the National Maritime Museum, the Queen's House, and the Royal Observatory.
All-in-all, an excellent place to visit.
