Hawker House
London’s street food haven
Once upon a time street food didn’t dominate the food scene within London. Those days are long gone and as street foods prominence within the capital continues to grow and grow so do the spaces that these vendors occupy. Not just happy with small markets within the likes of Shoreditch and Lewisham, the street food overlords over at Street Feast decided to create The Street Food Mecca within a warehouse in Canada Water, Hawker House.
Spread out across two ginormous rooms and two floors this is any food lover’s heaven. There’s ice cream sandwiches, lobster in a bun, vegans stalls and an infinite selection of smoked, fried and slow cooked meats. Not only content with having some of the best food around, Hawker house also contains multiple bars serving an array of cocktails, bottled and canned beers as well as local craft beers and the usual spirits and wines, so there’s plenty different options to keep you occupied. If you’re looking to step up the entertainment and bring in some drinking games head upstairs to one of the balconies that overlooks the main room and hire out a beer pong table to whittle away some hours.
With free entry before 7pm and only £3 thereafter Hawker House is well worth the entry fee (and even better if you get in for free!) Canada Water is the nearest station which is easily accessibly on both the Jubilee Line as well as London Overground services, meaning it’s a great location to start your night should you be looking to head out somewhere after. The place itself is open till late and is more than suitable for all ages with the crowd being a friendly and diverse bunch.
So, if you’re planning your trip to London and looking for somewhere to spend the evening eating some of the best food and drinks the capital has to offer, head on down to Hawker House.
