The Natural Kitchen

Healthy food for your journey

I’m pretty in to my healthy eating and raw foods at the moment - no, I’m not a preacher of veganism but 6 or so days a week I like to fill my body with the good stuff (and the other two days I do enjoy a 2am cheeseburger like normal people). So, when I was waiting for my train at Waterloo station, looking for just a small something to fill my tummy with, I spied The Natural Kitchen on the second floor. I couldn’t believe I hadn’t even been there or even heard of it before?? I rushed up there and took a look at their food-to-go deli menu (I could’ve sat down in their proper restaurant but I was only looking for something small to tide me over on my journey.) I’m an indecisive person as it is, but I’m even worse when it comes to food, so the guy behind the counter had a good laugh while I umm-ed and ahh-ed over what to get for approximately 6 minutes. I actually ended up going for their Immune Build Super Smoothie (berries, apple and organic yoghurt) and their Pear and Apple buckwheat muffin. Nom Nom Nom. The only qualm I have is that it is far more expensive to buy healthy food than is to get fast food; I understand that good quality ingredients come at a price but for the £8 I spent on my snacks, I could’ve probably bought 2 meals at Mcdonalds. However, saying this, it was totally worth it and filled me up completely on my 3 hour train journey - it’s my new healthy food when travelling hotspot. They have lots of branches across London so I definitely recommend paying a visit when you next spot one!
