It is entirely within the City of Westminster. The road begins at St Giles Circus as a westward continuation of New Oxford Street, meeting Charing Cross Road, Tottenham Court Road (next to Tottenham Court Road station). It runs past Great Portland Street, Wardour Street and Rathbone Place to Oxford Circus, where it meets Regent Street. From there it continues past New Bond Street, Bond Street station and Vere Street, ending on Marble Arch.
This street was existing since 12th century But began to be actually exploited from the 18th century The street became popular for entertainment including bear-baiters, theatres and public houses. However, it was not attractive to the middle and upper classes due to the nearby Tyburn gallows and the notorious St Giles rookery, or slum.
The years and years passed and the street diversified up to welcome the first signs such as Primark, Lush, and many other brand.
And now Oxford Street is one of the most famous street of London.
I was i love with all the stores, and Primak was my favorite for shipper clothes !
