Westminster Abbey
A day in the Queens Church
I went to the abbey for the day, although I admit to not liking history. It's undoubtedly impressive, it's very close to the remains of all kings and queens, of England but I admit I also consider it rather gloomy. There are plenty of nobles lords and ladies buried here too, some of whose monuments are really impressive. The church and its tinted windows are very attractive.
All in all, however, I found the abbey a bit overpriced for the ticket price of 10 pounds, and I regretted not having spent as much time here. I think I would have preferred to keep my money for the ticket price and spend time in a more interesting place like visiting the British Library, the British Museum, or anything art museums I went there.
The Abbey is pretty impressive but I found it to be quite 'un-church'-like which was a little disappointing. However, it was a fascinating juxtaposition between religious veneration and historical fact
