Zabardast

Wraps with a Mission

Those that study or work in Holborn know the feeling. Palms begin to sweat. The jungle beckons. Lunch hour is here.

In a sea of overpriced options, I always hunt for the value. There's not any better value than Zabardast.

When you walk into the store, you first see their mission and values prominently displayed:
"We belive our wraps make for a HEALTHIER LIFE
We understand that our customers' time is PRECIOUS
and we want every wrap to be served with a SMILE."

A small touch that adds to the experience as a whole. Making your way to the counter, you're greeted and pick your type of wrap. Your choices include different flavors of tortilla, flatbread and special whole wheat flatbread called Paratha. I choose the flatbread each visit. Doughy and able to hold the imminent contents.

Next you pick your filling which brackets your price. One filling is £4.95, two £5.95 and three £6.95. A variety of meats, cheeses and veggie options can fill this quota. My particular favorites include Chicken Tikka and Desi Omelette. No matter what time of day, the omelette is fried right in front of you.

With the fillings on its onto the salad. Unique flavors like green chillies, fresh coriander and sweetcorn join lettuce, tomato and cabbage. It allows you the freedom to curate your own masterpiece.

Once you deem your wrap complete, its time to top it off with a myriad of sauces. My personal favorite is Mughlai. An eastern spicy mayo perfect for adding a little extra kick. Each wrap is then placed on a press for ten to twenty seconds to complete the symphony.

The end result is one close to the mission. The food makes you feel great, the time is minimal and each wrap is certainly served with a smile. Zabardast does closely adhere to its Urdu translation. Awesome - indeed.
