PIN Bar Elba

Secret Roof-Top Bar near Waterloo Station

This Napoleonic / Battle of Waterloo themed cocktail bar, with sister bar Tonight Josephine located just below in the basement, Bar Elba focuses on the plights of the Emperor Napoleon, who was exiled to the Mediterranean island of Elba. He took 600 of his chums and favourite horse, Marengo, with him, staying for a grand total of 300 days and had a jolly nice time. He spoiled all this by returning to France to fight the allied army of occupation (and lost).

The 350 capacity rooftop has views over London and follows a tropical theme with sunny colours and block lettering details (don`t worry -there are plenty of heaters). There is a summer cocktail menu of 20 cocktails including favourites such as the Aperol Spritz, Violet Femme and Love Potion No.10, as well as this year’s newest trend Frosé (frozen Rosé). The spot will also run a happy hour from 5pm-7pm every day.

TripTide Thoughts

Great place to go for something completely different. Theres no lift and you do have to get up plenty of stairs - but it is well worth the climb. It's definitely on our list for evening RVs.

"Great views but could be chilly in the winter"

Great place and happy hour is good value with plenty of alcoholic content in the cocktails. The stairs could be tricky for anyone with a dicky ticker but after that it's plain sailing.
