PIN Cutty Sark
Iconic British clipper ship
The Cutty Sark is the world’s only surviving tea clipper, and fastest ship of her time and it is now an award-winning visitor attraction in Greenwich. Now in dry dock the Cutty Sark has been raised three metres above ground, allowing visitors to walk directly underneath and touch the original hull planks and iron framework.
History
Built on the Clyde in 1869 for the Jock Willis Shipping Line, the ship was one of the last tea clippers to be built and one of the fastest, coming at the end of a long period of design development, which halted as sailing ships gave way to steam propulsion.
Opening Hours
Open daily, 10am–5pm.
Triptide Thoughts
Treading the boards of this piece of living history was quite uplifting.
How to get there
The best way to get there is by going to the Greenwich Town Cen Cutty Sark bus Stop and from there it's 1 minute walk.
