PIN Eccleston Square Hotel

Hi–tech and high quality in an Urban Cocoon

Being ‘passionate’ about your establishment is a much over-wrought adjective when it comes to describing your boutique hotel. However, it is a wholly appropriate term when applied to this Victorian hotel and its management team.

Eccleston Square Hotel is owned and managed by Olivia and James Byrne, two experienced and motivated Parisian siblings who are focused on creating a forward-looking new standard for boutique hotels.

The hotel’s 39 bedrooms have either garden or city views, some have private courtyards whilst others boast beautiful furnished balconies and all are equipped with cutting edge technology. Each room has a high-end handmade Swedish Hästens bed - made up with high quality Italian linen – and are electronically adjustable.

All rooms and suites offer an array of complimentary, luxurious products and services like a complementary mini-bar (for those who book directly). Every guest gets use of a complementary iPad2 and smart phone with unlimited data and free international calls to selected countries included during their stay, free high speed Wi-Fi,

and the 46” 3D Panasonic televisions include SKYTV plus a huge library of over 100 complementary 3D DVDs.

SmartGlass walls and secondary TV screens within the bathroom mirrors are standard as are the filtered fresh air, underfloor heating, room fragrance and soundproof glazing

The Restaurant

The Hotel has teamed up Matt Laville to create ‘Tapas 37’, SW1’s first French-inspired Tapas restaurant. Inspired by the desire to share small French family dishes the siblings enjoyed whilst growing up in Paris, they sought out the skills and enthusiasm of Laville whose career so far has seen him in the kitchens of some of the world’s finest restaurants, including Gordon Ramsey at Claridge’s, Maze, Pollen Street Social and Arzak in San Sebastian. Says Olivia, “We’ve taken charming little recipes that we loved as children, like ‘Accras de morue’ and ‘Beef Bourgignon’ and have created Parisian-esque Pintxos – smaller portions, but explosive in flavour.”

In addition to tapas, breakfast, afternoon tea and brunch is also served in the restaurant and in the very popular Media Lounge which features a 103” Panasonic 3DHD Cinema Screen and private bar.

History

The hotel is situated in a part of London rich with local history. Winston Churchill and Queen Victoria’s granddaughter, Princess Victoria were local residents. The hotel is the combination of Grade 2 listed Georgian Townhouses, one of which used to belong to Queen Victoria’s granddaughter, Princess Victoria of Hesse whose son Lord Louis Mountbatten was the last Viceroy of India.
