Herne Hill Velodrome is an iconic cycling venue. With its 450 metre outdoor track it first acquired its fame in 1948 as the Olympic cycling venue. Today it provides a vital grassroots facility to the local community, cycling clubs and visitors wishing to indulge in a little history. there is always plenty going on to watch or even take part in.
History
Herne Hill was originally named the London County Grounds, the track of the London County Cycling and Athletic Club. It became popularly known as Herne Hill track or velodrome after its position just off Burbage Road, in Herne Hill.

The best way to get there is by going to the Herne Hill tube Station and from there it's 12 minutes walk.
