PIN Marquess of Anglesey

One of Covent Garden’s most traditional pubs

The pub is a Covent Garden staple which offers international and craft beers, an excellent range of real ales, as well as wine and spirits. The kitchen serves simple, modern yet classic pub cuisine

History

Formerly known as the Green Man between 1755 to 1815, the land on which the pub stands upon was bestowed to The Marquess following his victory at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815 and as a consequence the name of the pub was changed to the ‘Marquis of Anglesea.’ It was only in 1979 when Young’s bought the property that it changed its name to the current spelling.

The best way to get there, it's by going to the Aldwych bus Stop and from there it's 3 minutes walk.
