Changing peoples Lives through sailing and rowing
AHOY is a watersports based Charity changing people’s lives and building life skills through sailing and rowing. Their primary objective is giving opportunities for disadvantaged and at-risk youths and they offer opportunities for disabled people to participate in activities and courses on an equal level.
AHOY brings together people from many walks of life to work together as a community helping others and all our activities and programmes are focussed on teaching transferable and employable skills.
AHOY run a wide range of courses in sailing, rowing and powerboating as well as theory courses in First Aid, VHF (radio) use and navigation.
All of their instructors are qualified, experienced and passionate about involving others in their sports and improving the confidence and skills of learners.
The AHOY Centre is a recognised RYA (Royal Yachting Association) training centre, so attendees receive official and internationally recognised qualifications. They are also a British Rowing affiliated centre. Reduced rates for group bookings (4 or more participants) and for our dedicated volunteers.
There are following courses for individuals and small groups:
RYA Sailing Courses: RYA Levels 1, 2 and 3, RYA Seamanship Skills, RYA Sailing with Spinnakers, RYA Start Racing, RYA Day Sailing and RYA Youth Scheme qualifications 1-4.
RYA Powerboat Courses: RYA Powerboat Levels 1 & 2 and the RYA Safety Boat course.
RYA Theory Courses: RYA First Aid, RYA VHF (radio use) and RYA Basic Navigation Course.
They can also run other RYA courses which are available on request
