The Other Palace Theatre (which opened as the St. James Theatre is the first newly built theatre complex in central London for 30 years. It was originally built on the premise of the need for a small theatre to accommodate the distinct lack of Off-Broadway type theatres to develop shows before moving to the West End. When the opportunity arose to develop a small theatre Creative Director, Robert Mackintosh was able to do just that from scratch adding his ideas to the typical small theatre.

Finalised in 2012 the complex features a 312-seat theatre and 120 seat studio theatre in cabaret style with over 250 shows a year, St. James Theatre is an award-winning art complex in Central London, and a key player in the cultural scene.
