A London Walking Adventure

This is a discreet kind of London Adventure that takes place over 78 miles around the capital. It is a well-marked route that allows the curious visitor to London a view into some of the city’s best scenery including parks, cemeteries and the Docklands. Walkers will get a sense of the vastness of London on a route, which comprises 15 sections. For the more adventurous the route can be completed in three marathons.

TripTide Thoughts

Walking the wonderful 15 sections of seeing the perimeter of London is a great way of encompassing the city. Places and things not normally seen and done by the average tourist are here in abundance. After Section 1 we went clockwise direction from Woolwich and it is very helpful to have a marked out map with you before the off. Better still mark everything off on your TT planner. We guarantee it will take any stress out of the experience. The 138km or 78 mile route will take the average walker up to 30 hours to complete. So take good shoes.

We walked along and over rivers, canal, stations, brooks and cemeteries and saw plenty of bird life including kestrels, robin, thrushes, sparrows, blackbirds, sparrows and seagulls (?). Rabbits, foxes and grey squirrels were also in profusion

We walked through woods and forests passing oak tress that had stood for hundreds of years and well as the magnificent London plane trees. Golf courses, ponds, lakes and open fields were also navigated ‘en route’. There were also an abundance of parks from small to large and simply loads of historical buildings that could be missed normally
