PIN Marble Hill House
A Beautiful Paladian Villa
The Marble Hill House was built between 1724 and 1729, and is now owned by the English Heritage. The house is in the grounds of Marble Hill Park and provides many recreational pursuits like cricket, tennis, a putting green, and a children`s play area.
History
Marble Hill was built for Henrietta Howard, mistress of King George II. The house and gardens were intended as an Arcadian retreat from the overcrowded and insanitary 18th-century London. Its grand interiors have been exquisitely restored and recreated and include a fine collection of early Georgian paintings.
