The place is a performance hall in a former church. There are theatre, dance, music and comedy events. They produce new artists but also they provide training with technical theatre and arts administration skills.

There are workshops for everybody, for the youngest and the oldest. Groups are formed by age. First the Cadets between 6 and9 old. The Space youth Theatre for teenagers from 10 to 13 old. And the work space for the adults.

The space cadets is open all Mondays from 4pm to 5:30pm. The space youth theatre is open all Mondays from 5:30pm to 7 pm. The work space is open all Mondays from 7pm to 10pm.

If you want become member of the space, it`s not necessary to be a professional, just have fun and you will develop new and existing skills.

You have also the possibility to hire a room for your events. The space at London revealed the artists of tomorrow.

History

The Space has been open since 1994. It was constructed on a former Presbyterian church built in 1859 for a congregation who had migrated from Scotland to the Isle of Dogs to work in the shipyards. After the closure of the London Docks, nobody came to the church anymore and it was abandoned. Later it was renovated 1989 until the opening as the Space.
