PIN Watermill Grill
Historical carvery
Set within the historic Merton Abbey Mills, a short walk away from the River Wandle, the site of the only working watermill in the South East of England.
History
Merton Abbey Mills is located by the River Wandle and can trace its origins back to the old Merton Abbey Priory where Henry III held Parliament in 1236. In 1538 the priory was demolished by order of Henry VIII, and most of the masonry was reused to build Nonsuch Palace.
Eating and drinking
On Sundays there’s a fantastic Carvery from 12:30 to 7 pm (last orders 6pm) every week, where you can treat yourself to your choice of Roast Beef, Roast Pork or Turkey, and fresh vegetables for just £9.95.
The mill also provides a sumptuous afternoon tea with delicious sandwiches, mouth watering freshley baked scones, cakes and pasteries - perfect for any party or celebration
Triptide Thoughts
Ooooooo carvery. It’s like a trip up north without the hassle.
How to get there
It’s easy to reach. The historic Merton Abbey Mills venue is less than ten minutes walk from Colliers Wood Tube station (Northern line) and near to Wimbledon Town Centre with regular buses and car parking available. About 35 minutes from the centre of London.
