PIN Williamson`s Tavern
very olde city tavern
Williamson`s Tavern is an elegant pub hidden between shops and restaurants in Bow Lane. It dates back to the 17th century, built not long after the Great Fire of London in 1666.
Said to hold the oldest excise licence in the City, this original tavern has a distinguished history. It was originally a residence for the Lord Mayors of London, and William III and Mary dined here. The original pub dates to the 17th Century, not long after the Great Fire of London and we were rebuilt in the 1930s their `new` interior that reflects the style of that period.
