PIN Woodberry Wetlands
Haven of wildlife
Woodberry Wetlands is a nature reserve within 11 hectares of reed-fringed ponds and dykes and home to more than 365 kinds of birds - all within a 20 miles radius of St Paul’s Cathedral. You can also see bat colonies and butterflies in the reserve. In fact visitors can observe multiple habitats such as reed beds, hedgerows and grassland where all sorts of fauna proliferate. Inside the main building there are various and plentiful events like workshops, yoga and festival and all the profits go into London Wildlife Trust’s conservation work and the ongoing care of its nature reserves.
There are also free events like wild weekends or events for children and then paid events such as guided walks with an expert. There are also introductory courses and workshops like Bee Keeping. Private hire is also available
How to get there
You have to take the bus number N253 and get off at Woodberry Grove. Then you have walk 5 minute and you will be there.
History
It was only in 2016 that Woodberry Wetlands was constructed and the Stoke Newington East Reservoir was opened to the public for the first time.
