Ferry Cross The Thames
The Woolwich Ferry is a free service that you can take to cross the Thames from Woolwich to North Woolwich. It takes between 5-10 minutes there are crossings everyday of the week which run every 15 minutes. It carries pedestrians, cyclists, cars, vans and lorries and is operated by Briggs Marine and Environmental on behalf of TfL. However, when the tide is too high the service is suspended.
How to get there
Take the train to Dartford and get off at the Woolwich Arsenal. You can walk to the ferry from there
Opening times
It's open daily from Monday to Friday from 6:10am to 8pm and boats run every 5-10 minutes throughout the day. On Saturdays and public holiday from 6:10am to 8pm there is one boat every 15 minutes throughout the day.
Triptide Thoughts
A convenient way to passage the Thamer and see the river and its around in the same time. It's a faster way to join the other side than the car and it's totaly free.
