Café Pistou

A bottomless brunch that won't break the bank!

To every other city ‘brunch’ is a breakfast/lunch hybrid meal typically eaten at around 10am. To anyone visiting London, ‘brunch’ translates as a meal eaten at weekends at just about any time of the day… Seriously, I once went to a brunch that started at 4pm! Bottomless brunches are the new craze taking over London. Think of a bottomless brunch like a regular brunch but with unlimited alcohol, typically of the ‘breakfast friendly’ variety (think Mimosas and Bloody Marys). Naturally, unlimited booze doesn’t come cheap in London and a bottomless brunch at most places will set you back around £45. Here’s where Café Pistou comes in…

London revealed one of its true gems: Café Pistou is a chic French restaurant/café found just a short walk from Farringdon train station. The welcoming blue exterior and the fact it’s situated on the type of quiet, cobbled street you can only find outside of Central London gives Café Pistou an endearing and, dare I say, authentic Parisian feel. Now you’ve been drawn in by the general charm and aesthetic of the place, let’s talk alcohol!

Every weekend, both Saturdays and Sundays, Café Pistou role out their glorious brunch menu with every variation of breakfast dish imaginable; with French influences of course! I went for French toast served with a side of bacon, a serving of soft burrata cheese and of course the bottomless booze. Café Pistou offers unlimited Prosecco for £8 with any brunch dishes, which is unbelievable value considering one glass of the bubbly goodness alone is likely to cost you £8 in most London bars. Brunch dishes start at around £5 meaning you can indulge in a bottomless brunch for well under £20, perfect for anyone on a budget.

Anyone keen of unwrapping London’s finery, but without breaking the bank, is sure to fall in love with Café Pistou again and again.
