The art of glass blowing
Find your inner Glass Blower
The age-old art of glass blowing is far from dead. In the heart of London along Bermondsey road, a small glass blowing factory is proving that people have never been more interested in the art.
The glass gallery used to be an old warehouse and is now home to a collection of handmade art, most of which was made on the premises. Feel free to wander around and take everything in; there will be glass blowers on site creating an array of coloured glass right before your eyes.
“Once upon a time glass making was something passed from Father to Son,” said Peter Leyton, Director of the Glass Gallery. “We wanted to make glass blowing accessible to everyone.”
Peter and the other glass blowers run workshops for anyone interested in learning the ancient skill, it’ll cost around £400 and you’ll have to be patient as there is a long waiting list.
