Lily J. Boutique, Portobello

Lacy, girly shopping

I’m going to be very girly with you here, but it’s the only way I can really convey how much I instantly fell in love with Lily J. I stumbled upon it when I was visiting Portobello Road with a friend from home. She was looking at the vendor outside, and I was star struck by the lace. Lily J. offers clothing I absolutely adore but rarely see in stores. In fact, the only place I had found that holds a similar style (I must admit, I’m not particularly well-versed in fashion boutiques) is in Quebec, Canada.

Lily J. holds all the delicately feminine clothing you could imagine. There are dresses and shawls and skirts and shirts and I fell in love with at least twelve different items. I couldn’t believe the price, either. Everything was actually affordable. I’ve never seen a store like it, I loved the clothing, and, truthfully, the only thing I owned that was similar was a gift from my parent’s trip to Buenos Aires. That’s how unlikely I thought it was that I’d ever find a store like Lily J myself. I tried on several things and settled on one, paying £30 (an average price for what it was). It makes me feel dainty and just… pretty.

So if lacy, girly things are your style, and especially if you’re like me and you really, really like them but have no idea where someone would even go about finding them, then go to Lily J. Even if you don’t find something you like, you’re still in the middle of Portobello Road, so it won’t be a wasted trip!
