Rox Burger
The best burger in London… in Lewisham.
Burgers are a big deal in London. It’s pretty much impossible to walk around the city and not be shocked by the amount of burger shacks popping up all over the place. Ranging from the basic bacon and cheese to the slightly peculiar (peanut butter and jam anyone!?) London’s burger scene is truly booming. Everyone has their favourite joint whether it’s Five Guys, Shake Shack or an independent place and I’m here to tell you about the best of the bunch, Rox Burger.
Situated in Lewisham, Rox Burger might not look like much from the outside but once you step foot inside and are confronted with the smokey aromas from the kitchen, you quickly realise that you’re walking into burger heaven. The restaurant is tiny and can only hold a dozen or so people at a time but with it being a strictly local crowd and operating a quick turnaround you can usually grab a table pretty easily. The menu is basic with 4-5 options (including an absolutely delicious vegetarian burger) being readily available as well as a host of toppings (jalapenos, avocado, sun dried tomato etc…) given you the opportunity to customise the burger to your specific tastes. All of the burgers are cooked to your preference and the meat is perfectly seasoned inside a toasted, doughy brioche bun which absorbs the juices from the patty perfectly. With a decent range cocktails served in old sauce jars as well as milkshakes, craft beers and the standard soft drinks being available, Rox is the perfect place to sample some of the best burgers London has on offer. If you’re staying nearby during your visit to London make sure you pop by to chow down at Rox or if you’re feeling super lazy/ don’t want to face to cold London drizzle simply order it online using Deliveroo and they will drop it straight to your door!
