You may not have heard of Newham
Learning to Roller Skate
Newham is quite an ancient little borough, dating from 1203. Its first name was Hupiton but nowadays often considered part of Forest Gate.
From here you can go at the Thames Barrier Park, a beautiful park where you can admire the Thames Barrier. If you want to go to the other side of the Thames just hop on the Woolwich ferry - a free service. Since the 17th century, nearby Upton was a prosperous hamlet incorporating the ancient Spotted Dog Pub but today, sadly, it has been abandoned. Near this place, you can go to the Roller Derby or learn the art of roller skating or take part in competitions. There are numerous pubs like the Black Lion which I thoroughly enjoyed
