PIN Chiltern Firehouse
The `To Be` Spot
“A night spent at the hotel moves from stage to stage, act to act, with all the lightness of touch, wit and irreverence of an Oscar Wilde play.”
Vogue
On this note, Chiltern Firehouse is one of those stylish spots that is definitely a must do at least once when visiting London.
It is both a hotel and restaurant and both share in this equal prestige.
More Information
Chiltern Firehouse’s restaurant celebrates contemporary, ingredient-focused cooking, with an underlying American accent. Michelin-starred chef Nuno Mendes draws on a career split between the United States and Europe to create a changing menu of reimagined classics and bold new flavours, with an emphasis on seasonality and healthy eating.
Whilst its hotel located in the heart of London's Marylebone, was one of the first purpose-built fire stations in London, dating from 1889. Carefully restored by hotelier André Balazs, Chiltern Firehouse joins the collection of bespoke luxury hotels that include the iconic Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, the renowned Mercer hotel in New York and the seasonal Sunset Beach on Shelter Island.
The Firehouse offers 26 elegantly restored bedrooms and suites with one or more working fireplaces and generously appointed bathrooms that provide an experience of grand domesticity contextual to the historic charm of the building. Every guest is looked after by a personal concierge, providing unsurpassed levels of thoughtful and authentic service more evocative of a private house than a hotel.
Triptide Thoughts
Chiltern Firehouse definitely lives up to its reputation, where it’s a dining experience your looking for, or a stay, where the Telegraph deems, ‘you won’t want to leave!” Its food is delicious, and I hear its weekend brunch is not only where you should be but also is positively delicious!
