PIN Pollock`s Toy Museum

Memories of childhood past

Pollock`s Toy Museum is a small museum situated very close to Goodge Street where it occupies two 18th century houses. It was started in 1956 in a single attic room at 44 Monmouth Street, near Covent Garden, above Benjamin Pollock`s Toy Shop, where Pollock`s Toy Theatres were also sold.

What to see

A charmingly unique permanent exhibition with creaking floor boards and lots of little rooms focussing on their exhibits. The displays are well laid out and quirky in the best possible sense. There is plenty of history, toy theatres and dolls houses with plenty of reasonably priced merchandise in a well stocked gift shop.

Visitors are presented with a cornucopia of nostalgia including a compendium of toys, games and puzzles from the Victorian era displayed in original cabinets. It has a well-worn parquet floor and period brown paint giving an impression of age worn quaint appeal
