Great venue very close to Piccadilly tube. Reasonably priced ice cream and beer with plenty of leg room (and coat room). Although we were up in 'the Gods' on one side of the theatre our view was unimpaired and unrestricted and we could see everything

Located in Coventry Street near Leicester Square in London, Prince of Wales Theatre is now home to the musical The Book of Mormon and definitely has enjoyed a many visitors since!
History
It was built in 1884 by C.J. Phipps for actor Edgar Bruce. It was a three tier theatre, seating over 1,000 people and named after the Edward VII.
It's first act was, "The Palace of Truth" starring Herbet Beerhohm Tree.
Other notable productions include, "It's Magic", "The Witches of Eastwick", "Mamma Mia" "Let it Be" and now "The Book of Mormon."

Its location is perfect for theatregoers, and at night the lights of the theatre dazzle the street in great glimmer. So even if you don't want to see a show, it is definitely worth walking past the theatre. The current show "The Book of Mormon" is controversial but yet has been HUGELY popular:
"If you are easily offended or hypersensitive, don't go and see this show. If you want to see the funniest live show you'll ever see; this is the one. It's absolutely hilarious. I couldn't recommend this show highly enough."
