PIN Tales on Moon Lane
An independent children`s bookshop in Herne Hill
Tales on Moon Lane is a little sky-coloured place in Herne Hill that embraces the limitless imagination of children by opening up the world of magic, stories and fairy tales. The multi-award winning children’s bookshop was opened up in 2003 by Tamara Macfarlane with a goal to inspire a life-long love of reading. The bookshop itself, its design and setup catches the eye and tempts you to come inside. Colourful books are beautifully lined up on white bookshelves, a light blue dotted sofa stands by the window and a few toys lie around waiting to be played with. It is a place where children feel safe to explore as it resembles the way children see the world – colourful, happy and full of possibilities.
Tales on Moon Lane specialises in children’s books for all ages – from toddlers to teenagers. From classics to modern books, the range of choice is vast and every child should be able to find something special. Tales on Moon Lane has been voted one of London’s top 5 bookshops by Time Out, won various awards and actively participates in the local community of Herne Hill, educating children and hosting various events.
Events
Tales on Moon Lane often participates in events dedicated to creative writing, storytelling and bookselling. Exciting literary festivals, events and public readings will give you the opportunity to meet the authors and plan an educational day out with your friends and family.
How to get there
Located in South London, Herne Hill, Tales on Moon Lane is one of those shops you would not simply walk past. If you exit the Herne Hill railway station, turn right and walk towards the main street – Half Moon Lane (the beautiful title which indicates the location as well).
