The Hive Honey Shop is a specialist emporium selling honey and associated products from their shop in Brixton. Their wares are the produce of 4th generation beekeepers who, since 1924 have harvested rare fresh English & London nectar honey from their own beehives. The Hive Honey Shop was established in 1992 as a Dickensian styled shop devoted to bees and honey, with the largest selection of English and international honey in the country. Nothing has changed since then and they produce unpasteurised artisan honey from their our own farm and various London and UK locations.
History
James Hamill is the founder and head beekeeper for The Hive Honey Shop. He has been keeping bees since he was five years old and beekeeping has been in the family, for the last three generations, since 1924. As professional beekeepers, honey, pollen, propolis, beeswax and royal jelly has always played an important role in their lives.
James’ family invented lotions, potions, ointments and cosmetics using the natural ingredients they harvested from their beehives. The cornucopia of health and medicinal recipes, that were found to work extremely well, were passed on from one family member to the next and the tradition carries on today. He was persuaded to open a shop by his friends who found his produce irresistible.

This award-winning shop is honey heaven. As well as honey the shop also stocks all manner of bee by-products, including candles and royal jelly. For the enthusiasts, they run one-day workshops. A real hidden gem.
