Viktor Wynd’s Museum

Bonkers Artefacts and Crazy Classes

London has a wealth of curios and obscure museums and one of the strangest has to be Viktor Wynd’s Little Shop of Horrors which is situated in East London and contains some of the most peculiar and unique items you will find anywhere in the capital or even the world.

Based around the Last Tuesday Society, an arts and literary organisation that is ‘devoted to exploring and furthering the esoteric, literary and artistic aspects of life in London’ the Little Shop of horrors takes its name from the society’s chancellor and artist Viktor Wynd.
The shop itself contains a myriad of taxidermy as well as modern art, books, mermaids (yes, you heard me correctly) as well as a host of other trinkets and artefacts and through its website it claims that it ‘has presented London’s longest running Literary Salon with well-known and forgotten figures from the worlds of the written word, it’s parties are beautiful, fantastic and fun’.

The museum hosts regular events with masked balls, workshops, lectures and exhibitions all being held on the regular and all focusing on cult art and literary forms such as tattoos, taxidermy and storytelling, making it an eye opening and educational visit for all. On top of all that, there’s a crazy little cocktail bar upstairs if you’re feeling a little thirsty after all that browsing.
