A Day Out in The National Gallery
Perfect for the culture vuture
I was very impressed with the building and the collection. You can spend a full day here, I spent about two hours. And it's free! You can view the famous Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Monet and for free -definitely a good thing. My only disappointment was that some rooms were closed for no apparent reason (budget cuts perhaps?). I came to see Caravaggio specifically to find that the room was closed for the day (Saturday). So get ready to adjust what you'll see if the room is closed. I went as soon as the museum opened its doors and even though it was a Saturday, there were not too many people and I could see the paintings easily. It was an incredible moment that I would definitely do before I left.
