Raph's History Tips - Things I never knew about Waterloo Bridge
A bridge with a view to die for!
London's Bridges has a lot of interesting facts that are not taught in school, here are some facts that I learnt while researching the Waterloo Bridge for the Six Bridges Walk.
The crossing is commemorating the victory of the British and its allies against Napoleon in the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. The structure has one of the best views of London, where the Tower Bridge, Canary Wharf, London Eye, the City of London and many more can be seen. This crossing was the only bridge that got hit by a bomb during the second world war on May 10 1941.
