Bateaux London is a restaurant cruise experience on the River Thames in London. The company specialises in scheduled restaurant cruises and private charters with on-board catering and live music entertainment.

Guests can take a journey along the Thames with London`s best restaurant cruise travelling through the heart of the city and enjoying the striking sights of the capital from a special angle with live entertainment and delicious food. Bateaux London is a `floating restaurant`, where the seasonal dishes are prepared and cooked freshly on board our vessels on every cruise.

Bateaux London run scheduled restaurant cruises on the Thames all year round, including Lunch, Sunday Jazz, Afternoon Tea or Dinner as well as options for Private Dining and Exclusive Hire.

History

Formerly known as Catamaran Cruises in the 1960s the company ran a very successful sightseeing business with a fleet of 10 boats. At the same time in France, The Sodexo Group (who own Bateaux London) were operating a very successful fleet of ‘restaurant cruisers’ called Bateaux Parisiens - meaning Parisian boats. The appetite for dining with a view from Londoners and tourists was growing and the decision was made to operate a restaurant cruise in the UK.

In 1992, Bateaux London was born and began serving delicious food to on board guests whilst cruising up and down the Thames. Visitors to London were introduced to a bit of Parisian culture, bringing the vessel Symphony from the river Seine to the river Thames and with her, a contemporary and stylish looking exterior that was different to all other vessels in our city.

In 2007 the business was refocused, selling Catamaran Cruises and the rest of the fleet to operate solely as Bateaux London; the leading provider of Thames dining cruise experiences.

TripTide Thoughts

We loved it. The team were great from the moment we arrived and settled us in at our table. Afternoon tea was marvellous with a good selection of sandwiches and pastries. We had a great trip along the River Thames consuming our afternoon tea viewing London from the river.
