Oxford Street

Oxford Street is London’s iconic shopping destination; it including numerous high street shops and Selfridges, which was voted the world’s best departmental store. It is Oxford Street’s largest store with world-class dining and luxury brands; you pass it when starting from Marble Arch at the western end of Oxford Street. Just off Oxford Street you'll find Bond Street with exclusive designers and retailers such as Tiffany's.

Regent Street intersects Oxford Street and has Hamleys, the world best toy store. Regent Street links Oxford Street to Piccadilly Circus. Nearby is Carnaby Street with its eclectic mix of shops; it became a fashion hotspot in the 'the swinging sixties' (1960s) when mini skirts and flares became all the rage. You find unique stores including Choccywoccydoodah, an arts and design focused chocolaterie.

Not far from Piccadilly Circus, you will find the stunning Fortnum and Mason store, which has being selling classic hampers since 1707 considered by many to be one of the best luxury department stores in the world.

Harrods and Harvey Nichols

Harrods, which is considered by many to be the worlds’ most famous department store is based further afield in Knightsbridge and once sold an elephant as a gift purchased for Ronald Regan. The store is also home to a memorial to Diana, Princess of Wales and Dodi Al-fayed, who died in a car crash in Paris in 1997 and has been providing luxury shopping for over 160 years.

Just along from there you will find another famous British department store, Harvey Nichols, affectionately known by its patrons as 'Harvey Nicks" where you'll also find a good restaurant in its Fifth floor cafe.

Covent Garden

Covent Garden is a popular place for tourists to visit with a market and number of boutique shops - you'll often find street entertainers performing for the crowds. It is also the home of the Royal Opera and Royal Ballet.

Westfield

(Westfield London (Shepherds Bush) or Westfield Stratford)

If you want a one stop shop where you will find most things with a focus on fashion, Europe's second largest urban shopping centre (Westfield Stratford is the largest!), Westfield London is based in West London at Shepherd's Bush. It's perfect for a rainy day as it's all enclosed with a huge selection shops and numerous places to eat as well as an exclusive designer village. In addition, there is Kidzania, a City built for children with over 60 real life roles for 4 to 14 year olds. It is 75,000 sq.ft. child-size City where kids are in charge!! Each role-play experience is crafted to teach kids essential life skills including financial literacy, team work and independence; it is designed to empower kids.

Westfield Stratford has an equally large selection of restaurants and shops, and is adjacent to the 2012 Olympic Park where you can get plenty of fresh air and entertain the adventurous at the world’s longest tunnel slide at the Arcelor Mittall orbit, the UK’s tallest structure at 114 metres. For 40 adrenaline filled seconds, visitors will circuit the Orbit numerous times including a tight corkscrew named the ‘bettfeder’ (German name for bedspring). Only for the brave.
